After viewing CNBC’s Big Mac:  Inside the McDonald’s Empire, I realized that the company of McDonald’s faces challenges as well as opportunities.  For example, this company faces a lot of criticism for the food that they serve to their customers, which is one of their main challenges.  At the same time, however, this company is making a lot of income even though they are getting all of the criticism for their food at the same time.  This is why the company of McDonald’s is always in the spotlight of the media.  They have so much bad media on them but at the same time they are making so much income as a company.

McDonald’s faces a lot of bad criticism for a couple of different reasons.  One of these reasons is because of the food they make.  The food that the company produces has a lot of customers up in arms, but at the same time they are still buying the food.  Although the customers of McDonald’s might complain about the food that they produce, they are still purchasing it.  I believe that this is one of the main controversies that McDonalds faces because even though there food might be very fattening and contains a lot of calories, people are still purchasing it, but yet complaining about the food at the same time.

McDonald’s restaurants is one of the most well-known companies in the world.  This company has so much publicity that kids know about it at such a young age.  McDonald’s makes commercials advertising kid’s meals that come with toys for both girls and boys, which is what brings in the young customers.  For example, in the video Big Mac:  Inside the McDonald’s Empire it shows how a mother of a young boy had to bring her son to McDonald’s several times a week because he demanded the food that they offer along with the toy that the meal comes along with.  This is one way that McDonald’s brings in their customers, by advertising to young groups of people by offering toys, but also by advertising to older groups of people by offering types of food like burgers and salads.  This is why the company of McDonald’s faces challenges as well as opportunities.
