Caitlyn I like how you did your individual presentation on a company that your father works for. I also did mine on the company my mother works for. I think this is interesting because it allows us to understand more about the places our parents work. Would you or have you considered possibly following in this business and working for this company? Also have you done any work for them that your father asked you to do? If so how was it? I like how your fathers experience was hands on based and taught by someone close to him. I find this is the best way to learn and you understand the business the best from the hands on experience at a young age. It seems that you learn more this way and little hints you wouldn't get from a text book. With the idea of this merger what does your dad plan to do if it goes through? The company that your dad is merging with I have heard of a lot. It is a competitive national company and the accusation of them would be huge on the company and the employees. I thought the movie your dad made to leave the corporate world and make his own business was very bold. This shows a lot of character and really gives you an idea of where is priorities are at. I was very intrigued by the honesty of your dad saying it was hard to run his own business. The comment that you need “the ability to accept failure and the drive to succeed” really shows the type of personality not only your father has but the company itself. I really enjoyed the advice given, with the new age of the internet it is very important to utilize all the sources such as Facebook, twitter, and monster. One of my best friends family is in the real estate business. There situation is very interesting because the father builds the houses and the mother sells them. Have you ever thought about a combination like this to maximize the profits of the business.
