JAMAC Appliance Store

  1. Hey, I really enjoyed your presentation on this retail outlet right down the road. It is impressive how well he has been able to do in Webster selling appliances with all the big name competition out there. It is definitely true that the economy is helping the sale of used appliances just like you said. As long as he is able to keep his used appliances up to date with all the new technology he will continue to be successful. I also thought it was a good point on why he decided to set up his business as a sole proprietorship. You stressed several times the importance of establishing your name well in the local community. In my interview I was told the same thing over and over again. It does seem to be the biggest critical success factor in opening a small business. Seeing as how he has been in business for a few years it shows just how well he has been able to establish himself in the local community and create a name for himself. Another key point I picked up in your presentation was that he is a very hard worker. This is very important for running a small business and even more important for the sole proprietorship. It is clear he is willing to work the long hours and put the effort and time into his business which I would imagine plays a huge role in his successes. It is clear he enjoys doing what he does as well which is important and must certainly help costumer service. Another great point that Jack brings up which ties into the original idea of customer service is honesty. Without this component I do not think Jacks business would be able to survive in a smaller town such as Webster. Since he has a smaller target audience it is important to treat every costumer right and build your reputation through them. All in all your presentation was very informative and think that you did a good job hitting on all the major points.
